A method is described for processing a signal modulated by frequency division multiplexing in a receiver, wherein the received signal is frequency- equalized. According to this method, the received signal is broken up into a plurality of sub-blocks (r( s )) comprising different portions of the signal, and a frequency pre-equalization step (P(s)) is carried out on at least one of said sub- blocks, preferably on each of said sub-blocks, said pre-equalization step multiplying at least one element of the sub-block by a coefficient (a n (s) ) dependent on the frequency response of the channel estimate (h l (s ) ) for said sub-block (r( s) ).

Abstract
