In particular, the author confronts the numerous philosophical, conceptual, diagnostic and treatment controversies that exist within the field in a very engaging and descriptive style and provide a new framework for treating eating disorders starting from a socio-costructionist perspective. The text is a highly theoretical and practical guide, it provides essential information for practitioners related to the experience of anorexia and bulimia in a concise and systematic manner. The sufferer’s perspective, diagnostic criteria, co-morbidity, biological concomitants of self-starvation; treatments approaches, outcome and prognosis are integrated with research and clinical findings. The book presents an intellectually stimulating and informative exploration of the wide literature and includes a new intervention proposal.Pubblicazioni consigliate
